Nice German M-1811 Cavalry Trooper Saber with massive 32 x 1 1/2 inch blade, wider at the hatchet point. This saber is basically English pattern 1796 Saber which impressed German so much, they came with Model 1811 and used it from the end of Napoleonic Wars till WWI. This is a massive sabre, not for fencing but for a strike from the horseback. Steel hilt, guard and pommel, black painted wooden grip with no wire. Heavy, steel scabbard with two hanging rings. There are multiple numbers and regimental markings on the sword. Uncrossed one: "H.T.P. 4. 57." and number: "816 D" matching both on crossguard and the scabbard.
Condition: clean excellent sharpened blade with no rust or pitting. The hilt, guard and pommel all covered with uniform dark brown patina. Wooden grip is very good plus, just two small chips of paint exposing wood below. Very good plus scabbard with just one small ding between the rings and couple on the bottom part. Scabbard covered with nice dark brown patina.
