Super scarce, beautiful, named Austro-Hungarian, Naval Hungarian Officer boarding cutlass with wonderful inscription dated to 1896. Short 25.5 inches long and 1.5 inches wide German Damascus blade marked on ricasso: "Pacholek Gy. Budapest" and "Eisenhauer". The other side is marked: "Carl Eickhorn, Waffenfabrik Solingen". There is also engraved owner name on this side: "Galorkeszi Kobek Kornel 1896". Nicely chiseled basket steel hilt in shape of M-1868 sword has a beautiful family Crest chiseled on it and family call "Nunquam Qtiosus". Wooden grip covered with grey shark skin and great leather sword kntot.
Condition: excellent Damascus blade with no rust or pitting, just few darker spots. Blade is still sharp but it looks like it was used in combat, so it has few nicks on the cutting edge. Basket hilt is great but shows some pitting specially on inside. Grip is still very good with tight wire, but shark skin is missing in couple of places exposing the wood. There is also a small chip missing on top of the grip. Leather sword knot in excellent condition. Overall wonderful cutlass from long gone Austro-Hungarian K und K Navy.
