Impressive Turkish or Persian Shamshir from late 18th to early 19th Century. Narrow, sharply curved 32 inches blade of watered (Damascus) steel. Brass silver plated crossguard. Horn grip scales with pierced pommel and applied on either side with a chased silver blossom. Black leather covered scabbard with chased silver mounts.
Condition: Very good. Blade showing wear to Damascus pattern and some areas of pitting at point. Very good crossguard. Scales with some minor chipping. Scabbard with some surface leather loses but nothing major.
