Here is a very fine and rather long Persian Kindjal from mid of 19th century. Interesting form in shape of ancient Greek swords from the time of Alexander the Great - Eskandar, as he was known in the region. His conquest lasting impression transferred to the shape of Kindjals used in Persia, Afghanistan and Caucasus.
Offered Kindjal has dark brown horn hilt attached with two large and one smaller steel studs. The long and narrow blade has the fuller offset to the side on both sides. The obverse of the blade has rather profuse gold koftgari design, including two inscriptions from Koran.
The gold is almost intact. The blade is sharp and very light - I believe it could be Damascus, but it was not etched, so it is hard to tell. Blade is 19 1/4 inches long, 24 3/4 overall length. No scabbard.
Near excellent condition, no rust just couple of darker sots.
