Polish Cavalry Sword Wz.34 with matching numbered scabbard. Made in "Huta Ludwikow" (Ludwikow Iron Works) before WWII and issued to Polish Cavalry Troops. The sword is an early production without letter in front of the number (probably first year of production). Sword was purchased from veteran family who brought back from Europe after WWII. It has "JMC" initials carved on the front of left grip and "Germany 1944 ..." inscribed on right side of brass guard.
Clean 32.5 inches long and 1.5 inches wide blade, marked on ricasso; left - "H. Ludwikow Kielce", right - "S. WZ. 34". On the spine there is a serial number and inspection stamp. The hilt is of brass and grip is made of light color wood. Steel originally polished scabbard with one ring and no dings or dents. Scabbard also has the same serial number on one side and inspection stamp on the other.
Condition: excellent as brought by veteran. Blade is shinny but shows old cleaned pitting closer to tip. Hilt without damage covered with nice patina. Grips in excellent condition with no wood chips or dents.
Wonderful Polish Sword in original condition with a history.
