Very nice Commission Gew.88 in original "S" caliber never modified - Spitzen . Not 88/05. Rifle has all matching numbers except rear trigger guard screw and rear sling swivel screws. Bolt head has number a little obliterated but look like matching - see photo. Great untouched stock with Imperial German cartouches and regimental marked middle band. Bore shows heavy usage, dark but rifling still there. This is a hard to find original Imperial German WWI Commission Gewehr - not recent import, no import markings.
