Scarce Belgian Albini rifle (or Albini-Braendlin rifle) was a single-shot 11mm rifle adopted by Belgium in 1867. The action on the Albini rifle was designed by Italian naval officer Augusto Albini and was perfected by an English gunsmith, Francis Braendlin. Originally issued to Belgian Army it was used in Belgian Congo and other Colonies.
34' long round barrel, secured by two steel bands and one steel nose cap. Standard front and rear sight with volley extension. Barrel dated "1867", Breech marked: "AB&D" with an oval, serial number: H.699 over "GB". Cleaning rod present.
Condition: Near fine. Very good profiles and clear markings. Soft grey patina to barrel, breech and fittings. Very light surface rust to barrel which would clean off very easily. Great, solid stock with minor bruising. Great bore with strong and sharp rifling. Mechanically perfect, everything works. Great rifle in exceptional condition.
