Extremely scarce English large frame Kynoch Model 2 military style revolver in .450 caliber! Well made large frame, double action revolver. T six inch long barrel displays following markings on a rib: "KYNOCH GUN FACTORY ASTON". The cylinder bridge is marked: "PATENT MODEL". Birmingham proof marks are present on frame and barrel. Frame also displays a caliber designation: "CAL. 450. 5". The revolver is in all original condition. Six chamber cylinder. Simultaneous extraction. Concealed rebounding hammer. Tranter's patent cocking double trigger. Fixed front and rear sights. Hardwood grips with diamond checkering. Complete with lanyard ring. Kynoch revolvers were build at the old Tranter factory in Aston in 1885-1886. When William Tranter retired in 1885, he leased the factory to George Kynoch. Kynoch ran the factory under the name of "Kynoch Gun Works, Aston". Approximately 600 Kynoch pistols were manufactured, not many survived. This one has serial number: "209".
Condition: Fine plus. Blue metal finish turning to plum patina, excellent checkered walnut grips with no chips or any damage. Excellent working condition action with no rust or pitting inside. Good bore.
