Very decorative 19th Century Balkan/Turkish flintlock pistol. The style of the pistol reflects both, Oriental and European influences. Round barrel. Miquelet lock. The lock plate does not show any markings. Balkan style stock decorated with geometrical pattern carving. Iron counter plate and trigger guard. Brass barrel tang with nice engraving. Non-functional wooden ramrod is a part of the stock. Simple, brass wire barrel band. The pistols of this pattern were used extensively in many wars in the Balkans. CONDITION: The pistol is in overall fine, all original condition. All the iron parts of the pistol, including the barrel, are covered with brown patina. Some roughness on the left side of the barrel, near the stock line (please, see pictures). The stock is in fine good condition with some minor handling marks and light dings. There is a hairline crack in the right/front part of the stock, just in front of the lockplate (please, see pictures). The miquelet lock works fine. The bore is in very good condition.
