Hungarian Air Force Officer's Dagger made by Meszaros Janos Budapest. Eagle head pommel and crossguard featuring an eagle with spread down-sloping wings showing green verdigris. Black fluted hard rubber grip shows minor wear and chips but, no significant cracks, or damage. Single etched, nickel-plated blade grades excellent - with much speckling to entire length of blade. Reverse ricasso is stamped with number 22. Blade features etched Hungarian Crown, Eagle and inscription: " Kerekes Jpzsef fohodnagy urnak 1941". Dent-free, scabbard shows light surface wear and features a large embossed Hungarian crest on the upper obverse, with a mixture of beaded bands, stylized feathers, and thin flutes. The pommel, crosssguard and scabbard made of bronze but shows traces of gilt washing, specially in crevices.
