Scarce M.1895 Mannlicher Carbine bayonet issued to Artillery, Engineers and Torpedomen. This is the late production bayonet. Made by Hembrug arsenal in Holland. Marked on one side of the blade, "HEMBRUG.", and on the opposite side, "Crown over Z". The steel part of the grip displays, "Crown over Z". No serial/issue number on the crossguard. T-back, 18.875 inch long blade. Complete with a correct leather scabbard with an integral leather frog. The back of the leather frog displays a number "F 6606" and the name of the producer. CONDITION: Overall, in very good plus. The bayonet itself is in very good-condition with about 90% of blue finish still on the blade, crossguard and grip. The scabbard and frog are also in very good- condition. Some dings on the edge of the blade combat? (see photos). The wooden grips are in very good- condition, with some minor wear, but no cracks just handling marks and light dings. The scabbard is all complete, with leather still being soft. The stitching of the lower part of the scabbard is strengthened with brass wire from coming apart in usage. This is an original future of Dutch bayonets (please, see pictures). (Janzen p.146/2)
