Scarce Nazi rework of Polish World War Two bayonet. This is most likely one of the Polish bayonets captured by Germans at the Perkun factory. The bayonet was completed already under German occupation and finished in German style. The muzzle ring was removed in order to make it fit Nazi K98k rifle. The bayonet is finished in blue/phosphate like German bayonets of the period. Marked on the blade "PERKUN", "WP" and Polish Eagle. Complete with Nazi scabbard displaying following markings, "S/176, 1936". Mismatched serial numbers on the bayonet and on the scabbard. Version without the flashguard and without the muzzle ring. CONDITION: Fine. Blade displays 80% blue. Hilt has 65% of phosphate finish. The scabbard has 40% of blue finish, with a balance in brownish patina. Wooden grips are in very good condition with some handling marks. Scabbard has no dents. The scabbard screw is missing. Scarce! Serial# 536XX. (Janzen p.101/2)
